Big Guns “Beef” up Enfield Pro-Am [UPDATED - GALLERY ADDED]

Andrew With a full house of 40 teams for the Enfield Golf Club Pro-Am it turned out to be a most memorable occasion for the club and its members when “The European Tour's” Andrew “Beef” Johnston came along and played in the “Captains” Team.

Beef played Enfield many times as an amateur and said it was a pleasure to return and support the club’s Pro-Am and the club Captain, Phil Tiddy, was delighted to have “The Spanish Open Champion” as his team professional.

Asian Tours Steve Lewton also supported the day, along with a host of the regular Jamega Pro Golf Tour professionals and several Challenge Tour players.

Indeed, Lewton shared the first place professional prize with James Webber on 4 under par with Andrew Johnston, Tom Hayward, George Morris and Daniel Bennet tied for third place on 3 under par.

Beef then donated his share of the prize money to the “The Noel Johnston Foundation”, which was set up in his Father’s name to promote all sports to children and get them playing for fun.

First place in the team event was won with a fantastic 91points by “Team Storey” led by their Team Pro Mason Papple. In second place came Team Morris led by George Morris and in third were Team St John led by Liam Harper.

All the teams then enjoyed some delicious food served up in the friendly and welcoming clubhouse by the helpful catering team.

It is so pleasing that Andrew Johnston has never forgotten his roots in the professional game and supports the Jamega Pro Golf Tour whenever possible and we as a tour really appreciate that.

And so it is on to the tournament proper tomorrow when 68 professionals and amateurs will battle it out over two days in good weather, we hope!

"Beef" returns to his roots

We at Jamega Pro Golf Tour are delighted to announce that Andrew "Beef" Johnston will be playing in our up and coming Enfield Pro-Am this Sunday 21st August.

Taking advantage of a break in his very busy European Tour Schedule, beef says, "Yeah man, lets give it back man, yeah course I'll play!"

Andrew is keen to give of his time especially as Enfield Golf Club has such a large Junior membership. I'm sure we'll get loads of the youngsters shouting "BEEEEEEEEF" as he tees off the 1st hole at 1:00pm on Sunday.

Andrew who started his professional playing career by winning his first ever Pro Tournament with Jamega has always said that he will never forget his roots, true to his word, welcome back, we appreciate it.
