It’s an Oscar for Adams
James Adams did not mind the second day washout in the least, as for him, it was a storm cloud with a silver lining, giving him the “Hollywood The Oscars” win and the first prize of £3,500.00, with all the other prize money to be paid in full.
Two halves of 3 under par 33 gave James Adams the halfway lead on 6 under par at The Hollywood Golf Club near Birmingham.
Close behind Adams on 5 under par came Sam Robinson and tucked in on 4 under par was former Portugal Open Champion, Van Phillips and newly turned professional, Tom Spreadborough.
Unfortunately, due to a biblical amount of rain overnight made the course unplayable and so the second round was cancelled and Adams was declared the winner.
Although not typical Hollywood (CA) weather the course held up well on the first day and was roundly praised by the players who also enjoyed the hospitality and good quality and fairly priced food available in the clubhouse.
